The Institutes Goes to the US Open
This week members of The Institutes staff were invited to the US Open semifinals as the guests of tennis player Novak Djokovic. Djokovic is currently ranked as the number-one tennis player in the world.
Novak has a long history of giving back to the community
In addition to being a tennis superstar, Djokovic has an impressive record of helping people in need. He founded the Novak Djokovic Foundation in 2007, which has helped Serbian children in need, including orphans in war-torn communities and children in cities that were crippled by floods earlier this year.
Janet Doman, Director of The Institutes, with Vice Director Douglas Doman and staff members Spencer and Melissa Doman, were invited to Novak’s semifinals match in Flushing Meadows, New York. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and they enjoyed every second of it.

Janet Doman has been a guest blogger on the Novak Djokovic Foundation blog. You can read two of her blog posts: “The Creation of Ability” and “The Freedom to Move”. Both The Novak Djokovic Foundation and The Institutes share a love for children and families around the world, and both organizations teach parents about the importance of nutrition and physical activity for the health and development of children.

Novak, with his amazing ability and determination, is an outstanding example of physical excellence. He is just as extraordinary off the tennis court. The Institutes commends him for the fine example he sets for young people everywhere and for the wonderful work he is doing for the children of the world.
