Early Intelligence Development

Parents who have been carefully instructed in early intelligence development are the very best teachers for their own children.

All children love to learn. They can learn absolutely anything that can be taught in an honest and factual way when they are taught in a joyous way. The younger a child is, the easier it is for the child to learn.

The parent and child together are the most dynamic teaching and learning team. The family is the cradle for intellectual, physical, and social excellence in the child.

The objective of The Institutes is to make children intellectually, physically, and socially excellent.

Programs

The Newborn Program

Parents know that the first months of life are vital to the well-being of their children. Although learning continues throughout life, there is a special window of opportunity for permanent brain growth and learning that occurs in the first year of life. This period is vitally important for early intelligence development. It is now recognized that the sooner the baby receives sensory stimulation and opportunity for mobility and language expression, the more likely that brain growth, development and skills will be optimized. When parents understand how their child develops, they can become the best teachers their babies will ever have. Best of all, this joyous program brings parents and babies closer together, establishing a life-long bond of learning and love.

How To Teach Your Baby To Read Program

Glenn Doman wrote How To Teach Your Baby To Read in 1963, and this was the beginning of a gentle revolution which continues to this day. Millions of mothers and fathers have read this book, and countless babies and young children have been started on a pathway to intellectual excellence as a result. For a half-century, mothers and fathers have been teaching their babies to read. Teaching a baby to read not only begins a life-long love of reading but it also promotes brain growth and development. When parents understand how the brain grows and why it grows the way it does, they can use their love and understanding of their child to become the very best teacher their child will ever have.

How To Teach Your Baby Mathematics Program

Our work with intellectual growth continued, and several years later we discovered that young children love the language of mathematics. We were astonished to find the very young babies could easily differentiate quantity without using symbols as we do. This led to our infant math program and eventually to the book How To Teach Your Baby Math. Even in homes where neither mother nor father had any particular fondness or skill in mathematics, babies could really enjoy math as long as it was presented logically and in a joyous and happy way.

The Encyclopedic Knowledge Program

Little children can have early intelligence development on absolutely anything that we teach in an honest, factual, and joyous way. We began to teach our children about the world around them – the natural world of insects, mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, trees and plants. The kids discovered the world of great art masterpieces, history and science. The children showed us in the most delightful way that the brain really is the only container that the more you put into it the more it will hold.

The Physical Excellence Program

Motion and mobility are essential to life in all living creatures. At birth the human child already has the ability to move arms and legs vigorously. The baby also has the ability to move forward on the belly, but the modern baby is seldom given the opportunity to do so and quickly loses this ability. The Institutes has demonstrated that early mobility development is essential for the tiny baby and to later development as well. The physical program is a carefully worked out pathway that shows parents how to encourage the baby to move and how to create an ideal environment for each stage of mobility development up to gaining the ability to run, to swim, and to gain sophisticated higher physical functions like gymnastics.

From the instant a child wakes up to the moment the child goes to bed, nothing is more important than learning. Children would rather learn than do anything else. For the young child, learning is the highest and best form of play. Children want to learn about anything and everything, and they want to learn right now. Mothers and fathers learn how to teach in a joyous and relaxed way without the pressure and stress that we sometimes associate with our own education.
