CRAWLING Of the 983 children who were unable to move, 388 (39%) crawled for the first time. They went from being paralyzed to being able to crawl across a room. (They ranged in age from 8 months to 22 years 10 months.)
CREEPNG Of the 476 children who were unable to creep, 304 (63%) began to creep for the first time. This is to say that they defied gravity to move to the third dimension and now get all over the house on hands and knees. (They ranged in age from 7 months to 21 years 6 months.)
WALKING Of the 486 children who were unable to walk, 253 (52%) began to walk without help for the first time. (They ranged in age from 14 months to 23 years 8 months.)
RUNNING Of the 570 children who were able to walk but not run, 296 (51%) learned to run for the first time. (They ranged in age from 30 months to 25 years 8 months.)
SEEING Of the 300 children who were blind, 251 (83%) saw for the first time and 209 children learned to read. (They ranged in age 8 months to 22 years 1 month.
HEARING Of the 129 children who were deaf, 113 children (87%) heard for the first time. (They ranged in age from 8 months to 22 years 1 month.)
UNDERSTANDING Of 1,092 children whose comprehension was not yet equal to that of the average three-year-old, 969 children (88%) achieved this level of understanding for the first time. (They ranged in age from 15 months to 32 years 3 months.)
READING Of the 1,395 children who were unable to read, 1,360 children (97%) read for the first time. (They ranged in age from 8 months to 32 years 3 months.
TALKING Of the 1,160 children who were unable to speak, 501 (43%) spoke for the first time. (They ranged in age from 16 months to 21 years 4 months.)
WRITING Of the 660 children who were unable to write, 171 (25%) wrote for the first time. (They ranged in age from 4 years 4 months to 37 years 8 months.
HEALTH Of 1483 children who were on the program for 12 months or more, 427 (28%) achieved perfect health for at least 12 consecutive months. Of these, 157 had no illness for more than 24 months, and one had no illness for 12 years 3 months.
DETOXIFICATION Of the 617 children who were on anticonvulsant medication, 417 (67%) were completely and successfully detoxified. (They ranged in age from 12 months to 33 years 1 month.) Among the remaining 200 children, 44 are in the process of complete detoxification.
GRADUATE TO LIFE BY THE PARENTS Sixty-five children were graduated to life by their parents. (They ranged in age from 1 year 7 months to 32 years 5 months.)
GRADUATE TO LIFE Thirty-six children were graduated to life by The Institutes staff. (They ranged in age from 12 months to 28 years 3 months.)
