Program III: The Home Program Consultation

Objective

The purpose of this program is to prepare parents for The Aspirant Program by helping them to achieve a daily home program.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Home Program Consultation one parent must have completed the What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Child Course.

Preparation

After attending the What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Child Course, parents should do a full evaluation of their child based on The Institutes Developmental Profile. Parents should then develop a comprehensive home program designed to promote mobility growth, intellectual growth, and physiological growth. They can obtain the Home Program Consultation materials either while they are at the course or later by contacting the Clinical Coordinator. These materials consist of the Home Program History form and The Institutes Developmental Profile.

Content

Parents design their own home program and follow it daily at home for at least two months before sending in their child's Home Program History and Developmental Profile.

The Home Program History and Developmental Profile are carefully reviewed by a director, who then contacts the family. The director outlines what changes should be made in the home program.

Using the advice they receive during the Home Program Consultation, parents have achieved even more significant results with their children than is the case with the What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Child Course alone.

When the family is ready for an appointment at The Institutes, they are given an appointment date.
