WHAT TO DO ABOUT YOUR BRAIN INJURED CHILD COURSE PARENTS COMMENTS
What is the most important thing you learned from this course?
That my brain-injured child can be brought to his highest potential through the time-tested methods of The Institutes, and I and my family can be the ones to bring him there. J.C., USA, Mother
It helped me put all the pieces together. Ok, I have a brain-injured child, so, what can I do about him? I love him, and I can see in his eyes he is wonderful, and in this course I learned we can do wonderful things together. M.P., USA, Mother
There could be "better" answers for my daughter. That someone thinks it is ok to hope and that there is no loss in trying something else to make our hurt children well. How refreshing when all you hear from the "others" is, "I don't know what your child will be able to do," "we would expect her delays will be severe," "keep your expectations low so that all gains are great to you." H.P., USA, Mother
That my child has more ability and more potential than we've been told. That there is something we can do about our child's injury is life changing. To me the knowledge of input and output will be invaluable. I will do so many day-to-day things differently. S.P., USA, Mother
How do I narrow it down? I think it all comes down to this: I CAN HELP MY CHILD BECOME WELL!!! I had been hopeful for two years, but had not found the answers. I was becoming discouraged. Coming to take this course, I was nervous and cautiously hopeful – now I am excited and encouraged. I have no doubt that this course was an answer to my prayers to make my child well. S. G., USA, Mother
I learned that I have totally underestimated my son. THANK YOU for helping me to see that, and confirming that I am not crazy or in denial. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! C. C., USA, Mother
I can set up a program of treatment for my child. I do not need to go to a therapist to get the help he needs. P. R. CANADA, Mother
To me, the most significant aspect of the course has been “why” to do about a brain-injured child. The “why” part of the brain function is explained in magnificently simple terms. All aspects of the brain have been approached from a functional perspective, and that is the beauty of this course. Being a hardware engineer, I pride myself in being very logical. This course is one of the finest in “logically” tying together the pieces of the puzzle – the human brain. S. K., USA, Father
I learned that our son does indeed have a chance to live and be well, thanks to The Institutes, despite the fact that many doctors told us that he would only be able to remain in a vegetative state. P. G., USA, Father
There are so many that I don’t know where to start. Maybe the most important one is that after a two long years search through many places, I’ve learned that my son is not going to be 50% or 60%, like so many times it has been repeated to me, but 190% above his “doctors and therapists.” N. R. SPAIN, Mother
How will this change what you do with your child in the future?
We'll stop all the things that don't help move him forward. Many of our instincts were right all along - I've made the same argument against a wheelchair many times and was made to believe I just didn't "get it" and now we have a $7,000 wheelchair we never use. A.A, USA, Mother
Knowing that there are ways to get information into his brain will change how I do and perceive everything he's exposed to. The Profile has given us the opportunity to see life a little more through his eyes and it will change a lot. S.P., USA, Mother
No matter what my child’s doctors may say about what can or cannot be changed, I know I can get him to hear perfectly and I can do something about a problem he may or may not have before it shows up. K. M., USA, Mother
You have, I believe, given me the real ability to see through her eyes to ultimately understand what she needs, and finally to do something about what she needs in order that her intelligence, may be expressed wholly and limitlessly. C. D. USA, Mother
My son’s life will change completely. Life as he knows it, how I know it, will be changed. We owe it to our son to have a chance to live, not just exist. I will finally know what it feels like to actually be a Mother instead of a taxidriver, going from one therapy to another, and one doctor’s appointment to another. I will actually have time to spend with my child. V. F. USA, Mother
I will never look at my brain-injured child (or my well children) the same again. I think I have underestimated them. My fragile little girl is a tough little cookie, and she is going to do well. S. G. USA, Mother
I have already fired the physical therapist, occupational therapist, the developmental therapist, the speech therapist and the vision therapist. The physical therapist created the god awful position in my child by instructing on a position to decrease tone in my child. I’m going to be devoted to this program M. W. USA, Mother
Frankly, I can’t think how this one thing won’t have the single biggest impact on what I do with my child. Everything that I do with my child will forever be different. In fact, the way I interact with my other well children will never be the same again. G. I. CANADA, Mother
Was the course what you were expecting?
It was much, much more. It not only gave me excellent information in a clear and organized style, but thoroughly explained the "why". As if that wasn't enough, I feel completely encouraged and given the confidence that even without MD, OT, PT, ST behind my name, I am the best person to do this. S.M., USA, Mother
No. It was above and beyond all expectations. I was hopeful that I would learn useful information about my child. But in 5 days, you have succeeded in lifting the veil off of my son. I can see him clearly now - I know what and where the issues are and more importantly, I feel equipped to do something about it. I didn't expect that I would leave here so very excited to get home and start. L.N., USA, Mother
It was more than I ever expected. I expected it to be informative and eye opening. It was explosive! Thanks for an excellent week. K. C., USA, Mother
Yes and more. Finally I was hearing that there was something out there to help my son – and that they had so much information – instead of so little that I was used to, that I had to be in my seat on time as to not miss a word. Also, I made amazing friends in the process who understand and support each other – this I wasn’t expecting. D. F., USA, Mother
Much more, you have broken some patterns in my brain and taken the sand out of my eyes. I see my child in a completely different way, and the world for that matter. R. R., DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, Mother
The course was actually more than I expected. This is the only course that has actually made brain-injured children well. The course was well structured and professionally presented. I was impressed and well informed by all of the lecturers. I was literally on the edge of my seat. M. W., USA, Mother
It was beyond my expectations! Ever since we came to know that our daughter had a genetic disorder, I have been trying to get an insight into its impact in neurological terms. This course provides some fascinating insights into what might be going on in her brain. S. K., USA, Father
Not really, I thought it would be long and dull and probably pretty depressing. Instead, days flew by in what seemed like minutes, and for the first time I woke up feeling happy that something could be done for my child. G. I., CANADA, Mother
What would be your advice to a parent considering taking this course?
Tomorrow is not quick enough, today is just in time and yesterday is too late!! - so get going!! L.B., BOTSWANA, Father
You must go. Read the books, but still, you must go. I can talk your ear off about how phenomenal this course is for the next 10 days non-stop. And still, after you attend, you will say to me: "Why didn't you tell me it would be this good, this imperative, this useful!!" L.N., USA, Mother
Run, don't walk. Your child is in there waiting for you to get him out. A.A., USA, Mother
Do whatever it takes to get to the course. These five days will forever change your life and more importantly, your brain-injured child's life. R.B., USA, Mother
If you think you can anticipate most of what will be taught, you are wrong. I read the What To Do book twice, and many of the lectures reflect the book, but the presentation of the ideas is so well done that only by taking the course can you truly understand and appreciate all the ideas. J.W., USA, Mother
Please, before you do one more surgery, just look at The Institutes’ program. V. F., USA, Mother
Take it – what have you got to lose? Time? Money? Isn’t your child worth more than that? You owe it to yourself and your child to take the course and decide for yourself. S. G., USA, Mother
Take the course and see for yourself. It changed my daughter’s life and saved her life. K. C., USA, Father
I would tell them to take the course - it is the best program for your child, and one day your child will thank you. M. W., USA, Mother
Take it. Take it. Take it! The information about the human brain and how it works is priceless – especially if there is a child you can impact with wellness for the rest of his life. C. G., USA, Father
Simple…just do it and regardless of whether or not you choose to proceed with the program, you will not regret the time and money it took to come! I promise. J. F., USA, Father
What was the best thing about the course?
The positive environment. There was so much of hope around. It has given me a pathway, a plan. I don't have to keep looking around for things that might work with my daughter any more. I think we have arrived at the right place. A.D., INDIA, Mother
The best thing was the genuine love, caring, and heartfelt expressions of the staff. This level of passion and love brought the teaching environment to another level. J.S., USA, Father
There is too much to have to choose one thing! I feel that the information we've been armed with is like the key to unlocking the world for my son! S.P., USA, Mother
You made it so easy to understand and answered all the questions I had. It was as if you could read my mind. Every question was answered, every desperate thought was addressed. S.M., USA, Mother
The best was seeing the children who are in the program giving us a small sample of what they do – and seeing how happy they are in doing it. K. M., USA, Mother
That there are so many options available that I never knew. K. C., USA, Mother
The information I received has made me have even more respect for my child– if that is possible. I understand now the hurdles he has to jump because I am more educated about his brain injury. I have read over every one of my son’s medical records since his birth until now -- but his Development Profile is all I needed. D. F., USA, Mother
Everything taught in the course, goes hand-in-hand. One piece of information left out, would have been a missing piece of the puzzle. I also love the idea that it was taught so I could understand it, and was done with compassion. V. F., USA, Mother
It was interesting. The speakers are great and they tell engaging, relevant stories which are so illustrative. It really helps to drive the point home. It was rigorous, detailed and so, so logical. I didn’t have to scratch my head to try to figure things out. It all just makes perfect sense! G. I., CANADA, Mother
I don’t know, there were so many. Maybe to know that there’s someone in the world that dedicated his entire life to help others, above all, children. It is not easy to find people like that in the world we live in. Thank you! Thank you very much to everyone. N. R., SPAIN, Mother
Was it worth the time, effort and money that it cost you?
Time will tell. But now, at least I have a plan, a path to tread. I don't have to be resigned to fate or to therapists. I know I can make a difference in my child's life. A.D., INDIA, Mother
Absolutely! I can't believe I waited so long. S.M., USA, Mother I always told my husband that I would do anything, pay anything, even cut off my two arms to make my son well. Frankly I’m just happy to keep my arms. A few hundred bucks feels like a bargain compared to what I was willing to pay. It just doesn’t feel like an effort when you’re in the place that finally has the answers we’ve been looking for. G. I., CANADA, Mother
Yes,everything was worth it. I would do it again a thousand times. In Spain, one can mortgage him/herself for the sake of having a car, a house… there is no better mortgaging than the life of brain-injured child. I know it will be given back with interest. N. R., SPAIN, Mother
Go back to the regular design...
