Chip, Alison and Ginette Myers

Chip began on his home program at four years of age, and before long he was enjoying reading, math, music and thousands of Bit of Intelligence cards. At five he began on the Early Development Program of The Evan Thomas Institute and crawling, creeping, running, and brachiation were added to his daily program.

Chip loved gymnastics, bicycle riding, and composing music with his mother. He especially loved to draw, particularly the birds, insects, and mammals that he had studied in natural history. By six, he was reading Japanese, had seen nine thousand Bit of Intelligence cards, and enjoyed participating in violin concerts at school.

Alison joined the Early Development Program when she was two years old. By the age of three she could run three miles nonstop and had begun playing the violin. By the age of five she had seen 10,000 Bit of Intelligence cards. Alison did a large creeping, crawling, brachiation, and running program at home. She greatly enjoyed gymnastics and learned many sophisticated skills.

Ginette joined the Evan Thomas Institute at birth, and was the first baby to use the crawling track. By age three she had seen 10,000 Bit cards and participated in her first swimathon. She also did a large home program of crawling, creeping, brachiation, and running. All three Myers children ran their first 10K race at age five, and their first triathlon by age six.

Chip, Alison, and Ginette each attended the International School for eight years, where they had the opportunity to study computer science, art, music history, natural science, chemistry, music composition, and Japanese language and culture. Each wrote and illustrated many books, wrote footnoted research papers, and performed major roles in a number of Shakespearean productions. In 1990, Alison and Ginette lived with separate families in Japan for six weeks before attending the Suzuki Summer School in Matsumoto to study violin.

Through many hours of teaching in the school and at home, Chip, Alison, and Ginette each reached the sensei, or teaching, level and many younger students in the school have benefited from their individual styles of coaching.

Following his graduation from the International School in 1991, Chip chose to earn his high school degree through independent study. He lived in Mexico for eight months and attended high school there, taking all courses and examinations in Spanish, and playing soccer and football. Returning home he assisted in the teaching of mathematics, natural history, computer science, and analytic geometry to younger students in the International School. During his senior year of high school he began to attend the local community college. In May 2000 he received his bachelor's degree in computer science from Temple University. Chip serves as the computer network administrator of The Institutes and is married to Nati Tenacio, an Institutes staff member.

After Alison's graduation from the International School, she pursued independent study for one year. She then lived in Spain for eight months, where she stayed with a family and attended high school in Madrid. Returning home, she continued with her studies while assisting in teaching music composition, violin, and natural history in the International School. She attended community college and then Gwynedd-Mercy College, where she completed her degree in elementary education.

Ginette also chose independent study for high school, and began college courses simultaneously. She enrolled in community college and transferred to Gwynedd-Mercy College, where her major was biological science with a minor in music. She especially enjoys violin and voice. Ginette is very interested in the clinical work of The Institutes, and has spent many hours caring for brain-injured children in The Children's Center. She spent a full year in Barbacena, Brazil, teaching English and music to young children who come daily to do a program of neurological organization. She continues to work at The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential by assisting in the computer department, taking histories in the clinic, and teaching in the Evan Thomas Institute.
